Marcelo Pellegrini

Professor Pellegrini specializes in 19th and 20th Century Latin American Poetry. His interests also include the Latin American Essay and Translation Theory. His publications include several articles, reviews, translations, interviews, and a critical edition of La miseria del hombre, Gonzalo Rojas' first poetry collection (in collaboration with Marcelo Coddou). He has recently published a collection of his own poetry (La fuga, 2007), and a book on Chilean poetry of the 1990s (Confróntese con la sospecha, 2006). As a translator he has published La señal de todas las cosas, Kenneth Rexroth's first book-length poetry collection in Spanish (in collaboration with Armando Roa Vial), a selection of William Shakespeare's Sonnets (Constancia y claridad, 2006) and Figuras del original, a compilation of all his poetry translations from English and Portuguese into Spanish. He is currently working on a book about Gonzalo Rojas' poetry.
