It provides students with a solid foundation in Brazilian Portuguese, which can serve personal, academic and professional goals. The University of Wisconsin-Madison has used it for several years, as well as dozens of other universities in the United States, as the chief textbook and workbook for the first four semesters of the Portuguese language at the college level. We have also sold numerous copies to missionaries who plan to do mission work in Brazil. The book contains dialogues, long vocabulary lists and thorough grammatical explanations, accompanied by a variety of exercises. It also contains a new cultural component and reading stories. There are no tapes or workbooks sold with the book.

Payment (by check or money order, payable to University of Wisconsin-Madison)
is due in full upon receipt. We only ship by UPS regular ground and we do
not accept any returns.
You can get our book by sending a Purchase Order in writing (letter or fax),
with the appropriate Purchase Order Number, eight weeks in advance to the
below address. We do not take telephone orders. If you plan to get only
one or two copies for personal use, all we need is the billing and shipping
